Dear Steve,

I have had the immense pleasure of owning a guitar made by you for several months now, and I just wanted tow rite you and let me know how much I have enjoyed this instrument. When I first got this guitar, I played it for so many hours every day that I could hardly get any of my regular work done. I feel that each of your instruments should carry a disclaimer: "Warning! Playing this instrument may prove habit-forming and may be detrimental to other social and professional aspects of your life!"

This is a wonderful guitar. Tonally it has depth, warmth and clarity, and I like a guitar which you can play hard and is punch and deep, and you can play light and it will be sweet and clear. It is well balanced string-to-string and throughout its range. Its remarkable lightness belies its great power.

I have performed with it now in a variety of setting—from Jordan Hall to a church sanctuary, a school assembly hall and a reconstructed barn. In every occasion I had the feeling that the guitar had the power and sensitivity to reach everyone in the space.

It has delightful colors to its sound which is one reason it is so much fun to play, that and the visceral joy of holding this beautiful combination of gorgeous woods and excellent craftsmanship.

I ma sending you a '60s era catalogue of Velasquez guitar shop which I got recently from a retired guitar store owner in Connecticut. Knowing your love for Velasquez guitars, I thought you ought to have it.

We're off to London for a Week's vacation; will be in touch when we get back.

Best Wishes

Mark Davis
